One of those shows was "Ugliest House in America," which Hoover applied for, despite thinking her home was more dated than "ugly." The home also boasts a number of other quirks including a dining room converted into a bedroom, broken and outdated appliances, textured wallpaper and a floor-to-ceiling stone wall in the middle of the home. The couple purchased their home in September of 2022 and reside there with their two daughters and Hoover's parents. Instead, a house tucked into the northeast corner of Connecticut took home the honor of being the "ugliest house in the Northeast."Ĭory Hoover, and her husband, Jim, own the house in Putnam that moved onto the next round of the show.
